Premium loading

What Premium loading means

A loading is extra cost added after underwriting — for example +50% or +£5 per month per £1,000 of cover — because of health, occupation or hobbies. Loadings differ widely between insurers for the same person, which is one reason comparing several insurers matters. A loading is not necessarily permanent: some insurers review it if your circumstances improve.
